In a new teaser of Oprah Winfrey’s next interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Markle could not contain her feelings about Buckingham Palace.
When asked by Oprah how she feels about the Palace hearing her speak her truth, Markle said that “there is a lot that has been lost” in relation to her relationship with the royal family.
“I don’t know how they could expect that, after all this time, we would still be silent if there was an active role that the company is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us,” says Markle. “And if that comes with the risk of losing things, I mean, there is a lot that has already been lost.”
The teaser follows an article in The Times in which several royal advisers allegedly revealed that there was a complaint of bullying made against Markle by one of his assistants. Buckingham Palace later announced that it would investigate the allegations and a Markle spokesman told People that Markle was “sad” about the allegations.
“The Duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character, especially as someone who has been bullied and is deeply committed to supporting those who have gone through pain and trauma,” the spokesman told People. “She is determined to continue her work of building compassion around the world and will continue to strive to set an example of doing what is right and doing what is good.”
Scheduled to air on Sunday at CBS at 8 pm ET / 7 pm CT, Oprah’s interview with Prince Harry and Markle promises to delve into the couple’s experience with real life, dealing with the public eye and their future goals.
