International travelers authorized to transit Thailand from Monday

Phuket is rehearsing procedures to prepare for the Covid-19 green light for vaccine administration. A trial in Lan Muang Khao’s open area of Vachira Hospital was carried out yesterday evening to resolve any problems in the administration process. Phuket’s deputy governor, Pichet Panapong, oversaw the proceedings along with other health officials.

Pichet says the first round of 4,000-dose vaccines should arrive in early March, with the 2nd and 3rd series of doses, 16,000 and 48,000, respectively, to arrive in April and May.

“The government recognizes the importance of the affected areas of the economy where the epidemic situation of COVID-19 must be stopped and has allocated the vaccine COVID-19 to the province of Phuket to build collective immunity, restore the economy and return a smile to Thailand. “

“We are preparing for mass vaccination with COVID-19 to build trust among people that they will receive a safe and quality vaccine and will receive follow-up care after it is administered.”

Pichet says the first target groups in Phuket to receive the vaccine include medical and public health personnel, with others on the front lines to follow.

Then, workers aged 18 to 59, people with underlying illnesses, including chronic respiratory illnesses, cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, cerebrovascular disease, cancer, diabetes and obesity will follow.

“People with severe neurological problems and pregnant women should be careful about getting the vaccine, as well as breastfeeding women and people with immunodeficiency.”

The vaccination procedure begins with the recipients who are screened to measure the temperature and wash their hands before entering the administration area. Then, they will go through a series of steps, detailed below:

Step 1: Register

Step 2: Record weight and blood pressure

Step 3: go through the screening process, having your medical history and risk assessment recorded and then signing a consent form to receive the vaccine

Step 4: wait for vaccination

Step 5: Vaccination

Step 6: Rest for 30 minutes while watching for symptoms. Then scan the official Line account “หมอ พร้อม” (“Doctor Ready”)

Step 7: Go through a final check before receiving a document confirming the vaccination

Pichet says health professionals will follow up with vaccine recipients after 1.7 and 30 days of vaccination to monitor for any adverse reactions.

Those who are ready to receive their second jab will have appointments scheduled for them. Those who receive the Sinovac vaccine will have their second doses scheduled 2 to 4 weeks after the first. Recipients of the AstraZeneca vaccine will be scheduled for their second doses 10 to 12 weeks after the first.
