Intel’s anti-Mac advertising campaign highlights M1 shortcomings

With the launch of the M1 Macs last November, Apple officially began its transition from Intel chips, and it is clear from Intel’s latest advertising campaign that the company feels threatened by Apple’s decision.

In advertisements shared on Twitter, Intel has highlighted the shortcomings of Apple’s ‌M1‌ Mac line. An announcement this week, for example, points to the gaming capabilities of Intel chips. Intel mentions Rocket League, a game that is not available on the Apple platform.

An announcement from last week highlighted by 9to5Mac points to the lack of a touchscreen on Apple Macs. “Only one PC offers tablet mode, touch screen and stylus features in a single device,” says the Intel tweet.

Intel’s tweets point to a video by YouTuber Jon Rettinger demonstrating laptops equipped with Intel chips and comparing them to ‌M1‌ Macs.

Apple’s ‌M1‌ chips received a lot of attention at launch due to their impressive speed and energy efficiency, unmatched by Intel chips. Earlier this week, Intel released a series of “carefully crafted” benchmarks designed to prove that 11th generation Intel processors are better than ‌M1‌ chips, but the benchmarks were designed to favor Intel machines and were described by the Apple Jason Snell as “M1 -hostil.”

Intel’s anti-Apple propaganda is probably just beginning, as Apple plans to get rid of Intel chips within two years. Apple is transitioning its entire Mac line to Apple’s silicon chips, with the MacBook Pro and iMac set to be updated next.
