Intel teaser tips awaited for GPUs for X and HPG games may be revealed on March 26

Intel’s upcoming discrete gaming Xe HPG “DG2” GPUs may be close to a revelation. The company held a “Xe HPG treasure hunt” for March 26 at 12 pm ET / 9 am PT.

The site was hidden in a segment of binary sequence that Intel placed in its GDC 2021 presentation that briefly sparked the next graphics card. Wccftech managed to decode the message: the IP address of the aforementioned treasure hunt site, which promises more information on the 26th.

It is unclear whether Intel will launch DG2 cards on the 26th or whether the official announcement will come in the mysterious announcement by Intel’s new CEO, Pat Gelsinger, about “Intel’s new era of innovation and technology leadership” which will take place on 23 March. If that’s the case, then it’s possible that the treasure hunt could give fans more information about upcoming GPUs (or maybe even with real graphics cards if Intel is feeling generous).

While Intel launched its first Iris Xe graphics card earlier this year, based on its “DG1” prototypes that used the company’s Xe LP architecture. But low-consumption cards were not made for games. In fact, they were sold mainly directly to partners for inclusion in pre-built machines.

The next “DG2” cards – based on the high-performance X and HPG architecture – promise to offer real gaming competition for long-time players like AMD and Nvidia. Wccftech also recently identified one of the alleged DG2 cards that also appeared on the Geekbench, featuring 512 EUs, 4096 cores, clock speeds of 1800 MHz and 12 GB of GDDR6 VRAM. Other rumors indicate that Intel is working on an entire line of GPUs using the new architecture, ranging from cheaper entry-level models to more expensive options for energy-hungry gaming enthusiasts.
