Intel puts Apple’s ‘I’m a Mac’ in new ads praising PCs

Intel hired former Apple actor “I’m a Mac”, Justin Long, to create new ads praising the PCs. Long begins each commercial with “Hello, I’m a… Justin”, with the typical white background that you would find in the Mac vs. ads. 2000s Apple PC. Of course, the ads focus on the Mac vs. PC again, with Long mocking Apple’s Touch Bar, lack of support for multiple M1 monitors and “gray and gray” color options for a MacBook.

You can even go all-in in the absence of Apple touch screens on Macs or 2-in-1 support, mocking the fact that you have to buy a tablet, keyboard, stylus and even a dongle to match the which is available on rival Intel-based laptops. Another ad also points out that “no one really plays on a Mac”.

Justin Long’s return on Mac vs. ads. PC for Intel comes just a few months after Apple brought actor John Hodgman back to reprise his role as the PC guy in Apple’s “I’m a Mac and I’m a PC” ad campaign. While Apple kept its reprisal limited to the company’s speech to introduce Arm-based MacBooks M1, Intel took it a step further and revived that for full commercials.

Intel is clearly ready to fight Apple’s first chips with marketing, but we are still waiting for the company to respond with its own advances in silicon. Intel has only produced benchmarks so far. Intel’s new CEO Pat Gelsinger has also made it clear that Intel has to beat Apple in the future.
