In the forgotten time of 2019, Instagram announced the beginning of a test to hide Likes counts that users usually see in everyone else’s posts. In the last year of the COVID pandemic, this test is still in progress, but without much updating or expansion. So today, many Instagram users in the United States received the above notification saying they would no longer see Likes counts, but without any official announcements.
Instagram told Engadget that today’s expansion was a bug, explaining in a tweet that “We unintentionally added more people to the test today.” So, if you got the message and changed today, expect to see everything back to normal soon.
We are testing a new experience to hide likes on Feed posts. We unintentionally added more people to the test today, which was a bug – we are fixing this problem and restoring those people’s counts as soon as possible.
