Insta360 causes a camera so small that you can barely see it

Insta360 is about to launch a very small camera that is described as a “small and powerful surprise”.

Did we get a little bit, but powerful? We will have to wait and see on that front.

A teaser video before the March 9 launch, probably shot with the entry camera, features images that pass between a variety of small objects, including the handle of a mug.

An accompanying image (below) with the pre-release material also shows a partial view of the camera in someone’s palm, although it is so small that you can hardly see it.

So, what exactly does Insta360 have up its sleeve (or in your hands, to be more precise)?

Well, the smallest camera among your current consumer offerings package is the Go Life Recorder device, designed to clip onto your shirt and capture incredibly exciting (or not) moments from your day.

The 1-inch Go and One R editions are currently the only non-360 cameras in the Insta360 line, so according to the teaser, the new camera will be their third device. So, the new camera is a continuation of Go? Or is it for YouTubers looking for new types of hidden scenes to enhance their videos? I think you’ll have to check back on March 9 to find out.

As part of a campaign to promote its new camera, Insta360 launched a contest with the new device as a prize. All you need to do is subscribe to their YouTube channel and then leave a comment under the video teaser describing what you would record with your small camera. To find out if you’re the winner, check out the comments section next Tuesday, when the camera is revealed.

The China-based Insta360 impressed us last year with the launch of the One R 360, a modular kit that offers sharp images, impressive stabilization and many features for extravagant photos. Hopefully, this will surprise us again next week.
