Insider gives tips on the likely launch schedule for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3

In the past few days, there have been some conflicting reports about when Samsung will announce the foldable Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. But now Ice Universe provided a clearer picture of the situation.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 could be announced in July

The informant, who provided precise details about Samsung’s products and launches in the past, believes that it may not be until summer, more specifically in July, that we will see the long-awaited Fold 3 and Flip 3. This timeline aligns perfectly with another reliable report. Ross Young Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) said recently that shipments of foldable screens for Samsung’s next generation of devices are about to start in May.

Samsung could start mass production of the Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 at the same time before launch in June or July, according to the schedule provided by Young.

If the brand chooses to initiate shipments for customers by the end of June, the next Unpacked event may take place in mid-June. Otherwise, an announcement is more likely in the second half of the month or even in July.

Notably, Samsung never held an Unpacked event in June or July, but doing so in 2021 would be far from surprising. After all, the company has already started to change its launch schedule.

The Galaxy S21, for example, arrived a full month earlier than normal. And considering that the next Galaxy Z Fold would be expected to debut in early August in any other year, a revelation in June or July for 2021 makes sense.

What will Fold 3 and Flip 3 offer?

When Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 3 hit stores, they won’t be cheap. Current-generation devices are priced at $ 1,999 and $ 1,199, respectively, and similar prices are expected for 2021 models.

The good news is that more It is confirmed that affordable folding models are on the way, although it remains to be seen exactly how much will be cheaper and when they will be launched.

Back in the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3, the latest rumors point to the presence of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 in both. This chipset is the fastest on the market for Android phones and is already used inside the Galaxy S21.

We don’t know much about what else the Z Flip 3 will include, but the Z Fold 3 can offer 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage as standard, plus an external 6.21-inch screen.

The most important internal screen is considered slightly smaller, at 7.55 inches, compared to 7.59 inches on the Galaxy Z Fold 2. The good news is that this year’s panel will likely support S Pen for the first time.

Samsung is expected to eliminate the Galaxy Note series this summer and the Galaxy Z Fold line could act as its replacement, at least in the premium smartphone segment, offering a built-in stylus. To ensure that the pen does not damage the fragile screen, Samsung is expected to use the second generation of its flexible Ultra Thin Glass technology.

Don’t expect a big focus on the cameras

Cameras have never been the focus with folding and this must still be true on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. The latter can borrow the entire camera configuration from the Galaxy S21, which offers a 12-megapixel main and 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, along with a 64-megapixel 3x hybrid zoom camera.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3, on the other hand, may use a less impressive variant of the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s camera configuration. As for the selfie camera, it is rumored that Samsung could use screen technology in the Fold 3 to create an even more immersive viewing experience.
