No matter how you spin, 2020 was an incredible year for Innersloth and you would have been pressured to escape your hit game Among us. Despite being released in 2018, it slowly became one of the most successful games of 2020 and, after a surprising drop after the last Indie Showcase in December, we can finally be sus on the Nintendo Switch.
We have known for some time that they will be adding a new map as a free update and now, Innersloth has given us a small update. Detailed in his last blog post, much of this is a recap of last year’s well-deserved achievements and launches for other platforms, but they also discuss the roadmap between us for 2021.
The new airship map is part of that, which was inadvertently accessible on the Switch through a failure in December. Scheduled for “Early 2021” and based around The Henry Stickmin Collection, the airship allows you to choose which room to start, along with new features like additional stairs and costumes. It was revealed during the Game Awards and if you missed it, the trailer is available below:
For the Switch version specifically, Innersloth also addressed that several bug fixes were worked on, including one that prevents specific words from being blocked in the chat. In addition, an in-game account system is also being implemented, adding friends lists and saved statistics, but no boot window has been provided.
It’s certainly set to be a hectic 2021 for Among Us and we can’t wait to see what it brings.
