Initial Facebook success, Farmville closes at end of Adobe Flash Player life

Attention, virtual farmers: you are now retired.

One of Facebook’s first hits, “Farmville”, is no longer supported by Adobe, CNN reported.

“Farmville” was a popular game for over 10 years.

Users took care of digital fields and harvested fake vegetables.

The game ended on Thursday, a victim of outdated Adobe Flash Player software.

Adobe decided to eliminate Flash after it lost popularity due to its difficulty in running on mobile phones.

Apple completely blocked it on its iPhones in 2010, citing security problems.

Adobe has now abandoned support for Flash and will block all Flash content on January 12.

If you still had money to use for in-app additions at “Farmville”, game maker Zynga said “bad luck”.

It is not issuing refunds on that money.
