President Biden and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin are politicizing the military and may plan to “purge” conservatives or service members who support Trump under the guise of suppressing “extremism,” said Laura Ingraham on Thursday.
The host of “The Ingraham Angle” recalled the comments Austin made during his confirmation hearing last month, in which he promised “to fight hard to eradicate sexual assault and rid our ranks of racists and extremists.
“The Department of Defense’s job is to keep America safe [from] our enemies, but we can’t do that if some of the enemies are within our own ranks, “added Austin, a retired general who recently served on the board of the Raytheon defense company.
On Wednesday, Austin announced a 60-day “withdrawal” and ordered military leaders to have “necessary discussions with men and women in the force” in an effort to eradicate extremism in the ranks.

“One thing is certain,” responded Ingraham. “If this is substantive and not symbolic, it will cause serious damage to our military and moral preparation. Our men and women in uniform have been asked to sacrifice themselves – several trips, many of them – for so long. Often, in ridiculous compromises, wars idiots.
“Now, the Biden administration rewards them by classifying them as potential domestic terrorists? White supremacist time bombs? You can always count on think tank generals whose salaries are financed by wealthy donors to side with Democrats on this issue. “
“If Democrats were seriously concerned with repressing extremism, they would be looking in the mirror,” added Ingraham. “How many odious crazy, incendiary, inflammatory, defamatory things have been said by your members in the past five years, or just in the last month?”
The host concluded by launching a challenge to Republicans as Republican Party conference chairman, Liz Cheney, R-Wyo.

“This is your opportunity to show everyone that you will fight harder against the Democrats than against Donald Trump,” she said. “Refuse to allow a single US taxpayer dollar to fund this ideological and non-American purge of the US military, or expect many of us to push for drastic cuts in military spending.
“Why should we finance an organization that Democrats plan to use, not to protect us, but to restrict us in order to protect themselves and their control of power?”
