Information on the local distribution of more COVID-19 vaccines

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – A second shipment of modern vaccines arrived today in the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District.

The city will hold a press conference starting at 3 pm to detail information about the distribution.

Watch here:

Mega vaccine drive-thru clinics are scheduled to take place at 8 am Friday and Saturday for Phase 1A and 1B individuals at Richard Borchard Regional Fairgrounds in Robstown at 1213 Terry Shamsie Boulevard.

All entries will be made on site and the team will be on hand to assist individuals with registration. There will be no pre-registration online.

Approximately 2,500 vaccines will be administered every day on Fridays and Saturdays. On Friday, the drive-thru clinic will be closed when it reaches 2,500 people. The remaining vaccines, about 2,500, will be administered on Saturday until there are no more.

This earlier-than-expected vaccine shipment comes after Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales and Corpus Christi Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo contacted state officials requesting additional vaccines.
