Ineligible people vaccinated at Russell Auditorium after registration error

Some people seeking the COVID-19 vaccine in Dorchester on Monday were able to get the vaccines, although they did not meet the state’s eligibility requirements, officials said.

The Russell Auditorium vaccination clinic started vaccinating people aged 18 and over because of a mistake made in its pre-registration process, according to a statement from Boston Medical Center, which operates the clinic in cooperation with local partners.

“The clinic has suspended vaccinations for this age group and we are adhering to state guidelines before full eligibility later this month,” said the BMC in the statement.
