Indiana vs. Iowa is one of the must-see women’s basketball games this week

There’s a Big Ten battle in store for us this Sunday when Indiana faces Iowa. This is my mandatory game in the 11th week of women’s college basketball.

The top ten opponents face each other for the first time this season, when Indiana number 12 faces Iowa. Indiana will face a dominant scoring team in Iowa, third in the country with 88.5 points per game.

Both teams are 10-4 overall, with the Hoosiers third in the Big Ten. Much of Indiana’s scoring success is found in second-year striker Mackenzie Holmes. She leads the Hoosiers with 17.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Holmes will have the task of slowing striker Junior Monika Czinano from the inside.

Czinano has been a consistent top scorer for the Hawkeyes. It comes from an 84 percent pitch performance, averaging 28.5 points and eight rebounds per game last week against Northwestern and Minnesota. She made 15 consecutive baskets against Northwestern.

Czinano will have the help of Caitlin Clark, the eighth freshman of the week’s Big Ten and Iowa scorer. Watch out for Clark to help open the court with his kick and pass ability. She averages 22.5 points and 9.5 assists per game.

No. 18 Tennessee vs No. 7 Texas A&M | 3 pm ET on Sunday, February 7 | SEC Network

Later on Sunday, Tennessee No. 18 faces SEC No. 7 enemy Texas A&M.

Tennessee week is full of classified confrontations. Lady Vols will have to pass Mississippi State No. 24 on Thursday before challenging the Aggies. 16-1 Texas A&M will also seek revenge against LSU on Thursday, which gave them their first and only loss of the season in overtime. Both teams come with a defeat at the conference.

Tennessee showed dominance in classified clashes. The Vols have three wins over the top 15 teams and came close to taking down No. 3 UConn.

Texas A&M N'dea Jones

Four Aggies score double digits and this creates an offensive attack from all areas of the court to Texas A&M. Watch out for Tennessee to focus on painting with gunner N’dea Jones and Ciera Johnson inside. Tamari Key, Tennessee’s sophomore center, will be tasked with helping to close Jones and Johnson. The Aggies’ attack court has 25 points.

Key is coming out of a double triple against Florida and will count on the away game of scorers Burrell and Rennia Davis to open the court.

*No. 14 USF at UCF on Sunday was postponed. The rescheduling of the War on I-4 game is set.
