In the Test match in progress, England tightened its grip on the competition after reducing India to 257 in six at the end of Day 3.
England posted a whopping 578 first grand totals thanks to a double century from captain Joe Root, who scored his 100th test game with a 218 beat.
Root received wide support from Dominic Sibley and Ben Stokes when the two scouts scored half a century to put England in a commanding position.
In response, India got off to a bad start, as the hosts lost Rohit Sharma’s wicket in the final quarter.
Shubman Gill also failed to convert his start into a big score by giving one to James Anderson in the middle, who got a good grip by diving forward. Jofra Archer answered for both shutters.
