In the recruitment of RB; living according to hype; the first in over 30 years

Good night Bucknuts subscribers! There’s a lot going on with Ohio State football recruiting, so let’s get started! Of course, I will have much more during the night and tomorrow.

1) This afternoon, after making some changes to the Ohio State’s Top 2022 targets in the Bucknuts database, I posted an article on Bucknuts about the main current targets. I started with quarterbacks and running backs. The Buckeyes, of course, have their man as a defender in the country’s No. 1 overview Quinn Ewers. On the other hand, the Buckeyes still don’t have a 2022 running back commitment. I mentioned four backs, Nicholas Singleton, Dallan Hayden, Damari Alston and Kaytron Allen. A case can be made for any of the top three ending in Ohio.

Talking to several sources, I am hearing two names most of the time about guys who have or may have the state of Ohio as their leader now. The two would be Singleton and Hayden. Singleton has several schools that are taking a good look, but the three I hear most about are Ohio State, Penn State and Notre Dame. The schools I hear most about Hayden now are Ohio State, Notre Dame and Tennessee. I think that’s the order now for everyone, but in the end I think Tennessee could be the main school together with the state of Ohio when it comes to Hayden. The new team, unlike the old Tennessee team, is recruiting Hayden as a running back, rather than an athlete who could play in high school.

Tony Alford brought a spectacular running back duo in 2021 in TreVeyon Henderson and Evan Pryor. The list of scholarships includes Master Teague, Miyan Williams, Steele Chambers, Marcus Crowley, Henderson and Pryor so that they are exactly where you want them in terms of numbers. And all six could be in Ohio for at least the next two seasons, which means that a 2022 running back is a possibility.
