President Joe Biden said he does not think former President Trump should continue to receive intelligence briefings, which is at Biden’s discretion as commander in chief. “Well, let me ask you something you oversee as president,” said O’Donnell. “Should ex-President Trump still receive intelligence instructions?”
Former presidents often have the opportunity to receive complimentary intelligence briefings.
“I don’t think so,” replied Biden.
“Why not?” O’Donnell asked.
“Because of his erratic behavior, unrelated to the insurrection,” said Biden.

The president did not elaborate on what could happen if Trump continued to receive the briefings, but questioned what value this could add to the country.
“I prefer not to speculate out loud,” said Biden. “I just think there is no need for him to have the intelligence briefings. What is the value of giving him an intelligence briefing? What impact does it have, other than the fact that he can slip and say something?”
Earlier this week, Biden said he hoped to work with Republicans on a COVID-19 economic relief plan, but said he was prepared to do it alone. Biden told O’Donnell that he will not touch the value of $ 1,400 stimulus checks, but is willing to negotiate who qualifies for checks and whether a $ 15 hourly minimum wage increase is included.
He said he did not believe that a minimum wage increase would eventually enter the American Rescue Plan.
The president said the $ 15 minimum wage apparently “will not happen because of the rules of the United States Senate”.

“I did, but I don’t think it will survive,” added Biden.
Instead, the president said he is prepared to work on an independent $ 15 minimum wage proposal.
“My guess is that it won’t be,” said the president of the national hourly increase included in the American Rescue Plan. “But I think we should have a minimum wage, stand by ourselves, $ 15 an hour and work until – there doesn’t have to be a boom. And the whole economy shows, if you do that, the whole economy goes up.
