Russian Studio TallBoys released a few more minutes of filming Militant, your next simulator of “trying to escape from a city protected by a giant policeman” (h / t Rock Paper Shotgun)

Since July of last year, the game has been updated with voice acting, as well as a system that allows you to talk to the giant policeman and his countrymen. Other than that, it looks like the same scary, cutting-edge project that developers unveiled in 2020.

“For the police and the environment to understand the player correctly, we are working on a system that will correctly process the player’s responses based on the context,” recent development blog explained, making comparisons with the cooperative ghost hunting game Fasophobia. “It is important that you do not make stupid mistakes or create obstacles, as the responses will influence the Militant’s mood and attitude towards the player.”

TallBoys said that Militant will also include a text-based alternative for voice mechanics and maybe even a “classic dialogue system”.

Since it was first shown a few months ago, Militant won the attention of weird video game fans and state russian press, the last of whom described the game as “Russophobic” due to the policeman’s resemblance to Uncle styopa, a character from Russian literature and cartoons from the 1930s.

“Our goal is not to create an image of the police’s evil, but to investigate the issue of responsibility and power,” Militant art leader and designer Vladimir Semenets said Polygon last September.

Militant It is currently being developed for PC. There is no release date.
