A Detroit Free Press report came out on Friday highlighting Campbell making an anti-gay comment when he was an opponent of Texas A&M in 1998. The report said Campbell made the comment during an incentive rally that he liked to be going to. a school where “men like women and women like men.”

Campbell would apologize later, saying to a local newspaper: “I have offended some people and I am sorry for that. It was the heat of the moment. It is not necessarily that I addressed it to anyone.”

Alter apologized, saying that he regretted his actions.

“I apologize for the unacceptable tweets from my past. There is no excuse for the language I used and I am ashamed. I cannot tolerate that language. I am sorry for having offended and deeply regretted my actions,” he wrote.
