A new story from Apple’s serial leaker Jon Prosser revealed what could be the next design of the new Apple iMac with five color options. We also took a look at the supposed Mac Pro ‘mini’ from Apple. Apple is expected to replace its iMac 2020 later this year.

In his latest video, Prosser notes reports of a redesign of the iMac, and that Apple comes with not just a redesign, but also nostalgia. That’s because, in addition to the design language similar to Apple’s Pro Display XDR and the new iPad Air, there are some new colors apparently on the way. In an impressive concept illustrated below, Prosser may well have unveiled the new iMac design, based on leaks from various sources.

That’s right, Prosser says that the current prototypes of the new iMac use the same five colors as the iPad Air, black, white, green, blue and rose gold. Now, as Prosser notes, these are just prototype machines, so there is no certainty that Apple will release all or some of the rumored colors, however, although a little more “out there” than some of Apple’s other designs, if the colors of the iPad have proven popular, then Apple may want to capitalize on that success.

Prosser also shared images of a concept based on Apple’s alleged Mac Pro ‘mini’, which looks a bit like the old Apple G4 cubes, described to Prosser by his sources as 3-4 Mac Minis stacked on top of each other.

The news reflects recent reports on the upcoming plans for Apple’s iMac, notably Mark Gurman of Bloomberg. From that report:

A new report by Bloomberg states that Apple has a series of new products underway in iMac, Mac Pro and monitor formats. Including a replacement for the popular $ 999 Thunderbolt Display.

Starting with iMacs, the Bloomberg report says that Apple is working on versions to replace existing models of 21.5 and 27 inches, although it is unclear what the sizes of the new models will be. The design will be brand new, with something more like the aesthetics of the Pro Display XDR, says the report.

Gurman says that the new models will have much finer, chinless bezels to reflect the design of the Pro Display XDR, along with a flat back, as shown in the latest concept from Prosser. Gurman reports that two new iMacs will replace the current 21.5 and 27 inch models.

Not only that, but Gurman also reported, like Prosser, that Apple has a new Mac Pro in development, at least one of them is a smaller model with Apple silicone:

One version is a direct upgrade from the current Mac Pro and will continue to use the same design as the version released in 2019. Apple discussed continuing to use Intel processors for this model instead of switching to its own chips.

The second version, however, will use Apple’s own processors and will be less than half the size of the current Mac Pro. The design will feature a mostly aluminum exterior and can evoke nostalgia for the Power Mac G4 Cube, a smaller, short-lived version of the Power Mac, an earlier iteration of the Mac Pro.

Apple is also expected to launch a new, cheaper monitor to replace Apple’s Thunderbolt Display, which was discontinued in 2016.
