Genshin Impact developer MiHoYo has predicted some of the events that players can expect along with the launch of Hu Tao next week.
Impact Genshin developer MiHoYo has announced that new in-game events will come along with the launch of Hu Tao next week. The studio finally announced yesterday that Hu Tao will be the next playable character to make the game list. Fans of Impact Genshin has been waiting anxiously for MiHoYo to confirm the release of Hu Tao during update 1.3 of the game, after several rumors and leaks about the character surfaced in the weeks before and after the release of the update.
The continuous update of Game 1.3 started almost a month ago with the launch of Xiao and the start of the Lantern Rite Festival event. But unlike previous updates, which saw several new characters being released, Xiao was the only new character announced for the patch before it was released earlier this month. Despite this, fans still hoped that MiHoYo would eventually release another new character before the end of update 1.3. The studio finally confirmed this shortly before the patch was released, but did not reveal which character would be added to the game until yesterday.

MiHoYo announced the new events for the next phase of update 1.3 on Impact Genshin Twitter account, predicting some of the things players can expect for the rest of the update’s lifetime. First, the studio finally revealed the banner where players can try to summon Hu Tao, called “Moment of Bloom”, which will also include three 4-star characters already available, namely Chongyun, Xingqui and Xiangling. As with each character banner presented, players will have the opportunity to experience Hu Tao, as well as two of the other banner characters at the character test event.

The search for Hu Tao’s story, called “Papilio Charontis”, was also announced to be released alongside the character, which will give players the chance to learn more about the new Pyro gun user. Players will also have a chance to win Primogems and other rewards with the new expedition event “Vishaps and Where to Find Them”, whose name is obviously a spin-off part of the film series from Harry Potter franchise.
In addition to the new events, the ongoing “Epitome Invocation” weapon banner has been extended to coincide with the rest of phase 2 of update 1.3, which was expected considering that the banner features what is considered to be Hu Tao’s best weapon (at least least for now). The banner also includes new weapons that are unique, as their stats increase when the player adds more Liyue-based characters to the group.
There is definitely a little more for players to try before the current patch ends and Impact Genshin moves to its 1.4 update next month. Although update 1.3 was relatively minor compared to its immediate predecessor, which added a whole new region to Dragonspine, the Lantern Festival Rite was still able to provide players with at least some entertainment activities, particularly the mini defense tower Theater Mechanicus games.
