Impact Genshin Version 1.2 will present the “Chalk Prince and the Dragon”Event, but like all the others before it, this event will have a limited duration. Unlike previous events, there is no associated resin cost, but you will have to progress through the new story to fully unlock all The Chalk Price and Dragon event activities and rewards.
During the event, the Albedo Story Quest “Princeps Cretaceus Chapter” can be unlocked at Adventure Rank 20. It must be completed to access the Chalk Prince and the Dragon event; after the event ends on January 5, 2021, the mission will require Adventure Rank 40 and a story key to unlock. The event itself will feature four acts, each becoming accessible on a set date. Act I opens with the event on December 22, Act II December 25, Act 3 December 28 and Act IV December 31.
The main reward attached to The Prince Chalk and the Dragon is the Festering Wish, a powerful sword that is enhanced with items earned during the event. Certain items are blocked by explicit acts, although Rime-Worn Fragments and Rime-Worn Crystals are available as soon as you unlock the event. All activities take place in the new Dragonspine zone, and zone specific powers for the Festering Wish will only work there. Once the event is complete, these powers will be removed. Increasing Festering Desire will grant you Weapon Rise Materials, so even if you don’t mind zone bonuses, the extra weapon leveling materials will be worth it.

Prerequisite Story Quest

- During the event, the “Princeps Cretaceus Chapter” will not require a Key to History to unlock.
- Opening hours of the “Princeps Cretaceus Chapter”: After updating to version 1.2
- Unlocking criteria for the “Princeps Cretaceus Chapter”: Adventure Rank 20 or above
- Once the event is over, the Story Quest “Princeps Cretaceus Chapter” will require Adventure Rank 40 or above, the conclusion of the Prologue: Act II “For a Tomorrow Without Tears” and a Key to the Story to unlock.
Prince Chalk and the Dragon: Act I
- Opening hours: after updating to version 1.2
- Travelers can complete the “Prince Chalk and the Dragon” storyline to obtain the exclusive weapon of the Festering Desire (Sword) event.
- After the Dragonspine area is unlocked, travelers can find Rime-Worn Fragments and Rime-Worn Crystals in Dragonspine.
- After the opening of Act I, collect Rime-Worn Fragments, Rime-Worn Crystals and complete related missions to obtain Primogemas, Mora and other rewards.
- Increase the Festering desire to obtain Weapon Ascension Materials and other rewards.
- Once the event is over, the exploration will no longer yield Ice Worn Fragments or Ice Worn Crystals, and the mission materials in your Inventory will disappear.
- Rime-Worn Fragments and Rime-Worn Crystals are exclusive items of the event and will disappear after 2021/01/06 03:59.
Prince Chalk and the Dragon: Act II

- After the opening of Act II, travelers can obtain the Sparkling Essence through the Test Fields challenge.
Prince Chalk and the Dragon: Act III

- After the opening of Act III, travelers can obtain Warm Essence through the Draconic Pilgrimage challenge.
Prince Chalk and the Dragon: Act IV

- After the opening of Act IV, Travelers can obtain the Miraculous Essence through the Frostborn Miracle challenge.

- Glimmering Essence, Warm Essence and Miraculous Essence can be redeemed for rewards in the event store.
- Completing all missions in each of the first three acts will unlock one of Festering Desire’s special abilities each time.
- During the event, the weapon’s special effects will only take effect in the Dragonspine area of the open world, and will have no effect on Domains.
- Increasing the purulent desire during the event period earns a weapon enhancement EXP bonus.
- The amount of Essences acquired from the challenges will be scaled based on the Levels of the World of Travelers.
