Chic’s co-founder last week talked about the anguish he experienced at not being able to connect with her in person on vacation, as she was hospitalized under strict medical protocols amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“The saddest part of this #COVID holiday is not being able to visit my # mother,” said Rodgers on December 23. ‘She’s always happy and fun, even in the final stage of # Alzheimer’s. I learned to redirect or not, so she never bothers about memory loss.

Rodgers earlier this month told The Mirror about his family history with the disease.

“Six family members had Alzheimer’s,” he said. ‘We are talking about my mother who currently has Alzheimer’s. And my mother’s sister, my aunt, died of Alzheimer’s. And their mother, my maternal grandmother, died of it, and my maternal grandmother’s sister – my great-aunt – died of it. And your daughter also died of it. And my uncle too.
