Illinois COVID Update Today: IL reports 1,740 new cases of coronavirus, 42 deaths

CHICAGO (WLS) – Illinois Department of Public Health officials reported 1,740 new and confirmed confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 42 deaths on Thursday.

IDPH reported a total of 1,193,260 COVID-19 cases, including 20,668 deaths since the pandemic began.

As of Wednesday night, 1,200 patients in Illinois were hospitalized with COVID-19. Of these, 260 patients were in the ICU and 128 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported testing 73,990 samples for a total of 18,389,512 since the pandemic began.

The preliminary positivity of the seven-day state test from February 25 to March 3 is 2.9%.

A total of 3,563,775 doses of the vaccine were delivered to providers in Illinois, including Chicago, with an additional 443,700 doses allocated to federal government partners for long-term care facilities, bringing the total number delivered to Illinois to 4,007,475 .

When will children be able to receive the COVID vaccine?

IDPH reports that a total of 2,993,543 doses of vaccine have been administered, including 330,328 in long-term facilities. The seven-day moving average of vaccines administered is 78,942.

– Bureau County: 1 male 50 years old
-Champaign County: 1 man from the 80s
– Cook County: 2 men aged 50, 2 men aged 60, 1 woman aged 70, 1 man aged 70, 2 women aged 80 and 3 men aged 80
– DuPage County: 1 man 50 years old, 1 man 60 years old
-Kane County: 1 woman 50 years old, 1 woman 60 years old
-Lake County: 1 woman 50 years old, 1 man 50 years old, 1 man 60 years old, 1 woman 70 years old, 1 woman 90 years old
-LaSalle County: 1 woman 80 years old
– Macon County: 1 man from the 80s
– Madison County: 1 woman 70 years old, 1 man 70 years old

– McLean County: 1 70 year old man
-Monroe County; 1 male 80 years old
-Morgan County: 1 woman 70 years old
-Ogle County: 1 man from the 80s
-Peoria County: 1 man 60 years old, 1 man 70 years old
– Sangamon County: 1 male 60 years old, 1 male 80 years old
-Stephenson County: 1 woman over 100 years old
– Will County: 1 woman 30 years old, 1 man 50 years old, 1 woman 60 years old, 2 men 60 years old, 1 man 70 years old
– Winebago County: 1 woman from the 90s
