Illinois COVID Update Today: IL reports 1,249 new cases of coronavirus, 22 deaths

CHICAGO (WLS) – The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,249 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 22 deaths on Sunday.

IDPH reported a total of 1,856,696 COVID-19 cases, including 20,516 deaths.

As of Saturday night, 1,265 patients in Illinois were in the hospital with COVID-19. Of these, 303 patients were in the ICU and 150 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported testing 66,500 samples for a total of 18,136,253 since the start of the pandemic.

The preliminary positivity of the seven-day state test from February 21 to 27 is 2.4%.

A total of 2,740,105 doses of the vaccine were delivered to providers in Illinois, including Chicago, with an additional 443,700 doses allocated to federal government partners for long-term care facilities, bringing the total number delivered to Illinois to 3,183,805 .

IDPH said vaccine delivery numbers are reported in real time and vaccine delivery numbers take up to 72 hours.

IDPH reports that a total of 2,705,934 doses of vaccine have been administered, including 315,416 in long-term care facilities. The seven-day moving average of vaccines administered is 79,140.

Illinois announced that 79,266 doses of vaccine were administered on Saturday.

United Center car parks will soon be mass vaccination sites run by the federal government, officials announced on Friday.

As the state’s vaccine supply increases, federal, state and local officials have announced that a mass vaccination site for the United Center’s COVID-19 will open on March 10.

FEMA and the US Department of Defense will take the lead in administering the site, with a particular focus on vaccinating minority populations that have been relatively slow in obtaining doses. The arena team is also experienced in handling large crowds and traffic.

Illinois residents who are currently eligible for the vaccine from all over the state can visit the site. Illinois seniors aged 65 and over will have exclusive access to consultations first, followed by all other eligible groups on the state’s vaccination schedule.

Information on where and how to make appointments will be available in the coming days. Demand must be high.

– Champaign County: 1 man from the 80s
– Christian County: 1 70 year old man

– Clark County: 1 60 year old man
– Cook County: 3 men aged 60, 1 woman aged 70, 2 men aged 70, 1 woman aged 90, 1 woman aged over 100
– DuPage County: 1 male 70 years old, 1 female 90 years old
– Kane County: 1 man, 70 years old
– County of Kendall: 1 woman 60 years old
– Knox County: 1 man from the 90s
– Livingston County: 1 man from the 80s
– Pulaski County: 1 woman, 70 years old
– St. Clair County: 1 man from the 90s
– Will County: 1 man from the 90s
– Williamson County: 1 man from the 80s
– Winnebago County: 1 man from the 80s
