IKEA has spent years working on a line of gaming furniture and is now finally ready. The Swedish furniture giant announced its line of games that it developed in partnership with the Republic of Gamers, and includes everything you need to decorate your game room and, potentially, some more esoteric items.
In a note, IKEA said that entering the gaming market was a “natural step” for the company due to the growing number of people who like games. Recognizing its lack of knowledge and experience in games, IKEA said it found a good partner in Asus’ Republic of Gamers brand to help the company behind $ 1 hot dogs in furniture design.

“Combining the best of both worlds, the collaboration aimed to democratize the gaming experience, creating relevant, functional, beautiful and affordable products and complete gaming solutions to make it easier for everyone to create the configuration and home they want”, IKEA said.
Without further ado, IKEA’s line of gaming furniture and accessories includes the following product categories aimed specifically at PC players: HUVUDSPELARE, UTESPELARE, MATCHSPEL, GRUPPSPEL, UPPSPEL, LÅNESPELARE.
There are more than 30 products included in the IKEA line of games, including tables, chairs and accessories like a large wooden hand to hold your headset. The product line also includes a cup holder that attaches to the table and a special pillow with pockets where you can put your hands to keep them warm, I think. Some of the items, like the ring light, appear to be aimed at streamers.
“The needs of billions of players around the world are very diverse, while the existing offering is quite technical and often perceived as a masculine design, despite the fact that about 46% of the players are women,” said Ewa Rychert of IKEA. “We believe there is a lot to be done to democratize the gaming experience. Now we take the first step on our gaming journey and we do so by presenting affordable, high-performance gaming products and complete solutions that we hope will reflect the personality and taste of people . “
This product line was launched in China in late January. It is scheduled to be released in Japan in May 2021 and then in October 2021 in the rest of the world.
