One wonders how they missed a perfect opportunity to change their name to “IHObb”.
The International House of Pancakes, known to its close friends as IHOP (and for a brief period, “IHOb” when it tried to exaggerate its burger menu), announced the debut of its Burritos & Bowls menu, with six different flavor combinations that it can be served inside – you guessed it – or a burrito or a bowl.
HOW TO MAKE ‘CEREAL PANCAKES’ AS A TRUE CHIEF TIKTOK
The restaurant chain’s new Burritos & Bowls menu will launch on Tuesday at participating stores, with prices starting at $ 5.99. The varieties include:
- The Classic, with scrambled eggs, grated cheeses, chips and bacon or sausage
- Country Breakfast, with scrambled eggs, chopped ham, sausage, peppers, onions, grated cheeses and chips
- Spicy Poblano Fajita, with shredded meat, scrambled eggs, poblano pepper, serrano pepper, red pepper, onion, shredded cheeses, avocado and french fries
- Southwestern chicken, with grilled chicken, scrambled eggs, bacon, green pepper, onion, tomato, queso cheese, grated cheeses, avocado and french fries
- Spicy Shredded Beef, which is the same as Spicy Poblano Fajita, but without eggs, and a mixture of rice in place of fries
- New Mexico chicken, which is like southwestern chicken, but without eggs, and a mixture of rice in place of fries
“Burritos are the # 1 fastest growing breakfast menu items in America, so as a breakfast leader, IHOP needed to create some excellent ones,” said Brad Haley, director of marketing at IHOP, in a statement the press.
Haley also said that “guests are looking for more menu items that are portable to take and deliver” during the pandemic.

The six new ‘versions’ will be available in burrito and bowl.

IHOP’s new Burritos & Bowls offerings come more than two years after its last major menu ad in 2018, when the chain temporarily changed its name to “IHOb” to promote its then new line of hamburgers. Fellow restaurant chains soon began trolling IHOP over the marketing scheme, but IHOP’s parent company CEO Dine Brands Global revealed that the move actually quadrupled IHOP’s burger sales in months.
