(KWWL) – Hy-Vee will start offering the COVID-19 rapid antibody test in certain pharmacies next week.
From Monday, January 18, you will be able to find out if you have previously been infected with COVID-19 and are not currently experiencing any symptoms.
Those wishing to take the test must register in advance at hy-vee.com/covidtesting and select “antibody test”. From there, you can schedule a test time and place and receive a test voucher. Children six years and older can be tested if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Results are expected on the same day in just 15 minutes after the test is completed. The results will be sent to the patient by email on the same day.
Antibody tests cost $ 25 and patients can pay at the pharmacy.
An antibody test can show whether a patient has been infected with COVID-19 in the past, but it does not show whether the patient has a current infection. It can take 1 to 3 weeks after infection for the body to produce antibodies.
Hy-Vee is also offering rapid antigen testing at some pharmacies and free laboratory tests.
