Bryid Moss of Meridian won a $ 250,000 prize in a crossword puzzle on Thursday, the Idaho Lottery said in a press release, marking its sixth lottery win. However, this marks his first major prize and “by far the biggest,” said the Idaho Lottery.
Moss, owner of the health food store Newko Sport and Nutrition, told the Idaho Lottery that he plays regularly because he knows it benefits schools in Idaho.
The Idaho Lottery dividends went to public schools in Idaho and the Permanent Construction Fund, which has supported state-run facilities like Idaho colleges and universities since its founding. In total, over the history of the state lottery, $ 961.5 million has been contributed to these two entities.
“I am proud to help support Idaho’s public schools, that’s really why I play,” Moss said in a statement.
He said he plans to put his earnings aside for his daughter’s education.
