In addition to statistics, IC3’s 2020 Internet Crime Report contains information about the most common Internet scams that affect the public and provides guidance for prevention and protection. IC3 provides the public with a reliable and convenient mechanism for reporting suspected Internet crimes to the FBI. The FBI analyzes and shares complaint information sent for investigative and intelligence purposes, law enforcement and public awareness.
With the launch of 2020 Internet Crime Report, the FBI wishes to remind the public to immediately report criminal Internet activity to IC3 at ic3.gov. When reporting crimes on the Internet, victims are not only alerting police authorities about the activity, but also helping in the overall fight against cyber crime.
