‘I thought he was going to kill me’

Armie Hammer’s first accuser, who was previously anonymous, appeared on Thursday,

The woman, whose first name is Effie, was identified as a 24-year-old European resident and appeared at a news conference with her lawyer, Gloria Allred. She did not give her last name, but said she had a relationship with Hammer that was sometimes violent and abusive between 2016 and 2020, after they met on Facebook. She claimed that he “raped her violently” for four hours on April 24, 2017, in Los Angeles.

“I thought he was going to kill me,” said Effie.

She claimed that Hammer “repeatedly hit my head against the wall, hurting my face” and prevented her from running away.

At the same time, the Los Angeles Police Department public information officer confirmed to Yahoo Entertainment that Hammer is the suspect in an ongoing sexual assault investigation since February 3.

That was a month after a social media account, @houseofeffie, started posting screenshots of messages that it claimed Hammer sent to several women. They included references to cannibalism and violence, and were posted because women collectively decided it was time to speak, said the account owner.

Effie reportedly didn’t reveal if it was her.

Since these original accusations, other women have spoken out against Hammer. He has since departed the Jennifer Lopez film Forced marriage, in which he was set to co-star, and Variety reported that his agency, WME, has abandoned him.

The star of The social network and Call me by your name denied the charges.

‘Her lawyer, Andrew Brettler, used Effie’s last name in his response to the latest development, but we drafted it because she said she didn’t want it to be used.

“[Effie’s] the correspondence with Mr. Hammer itself undermines and refutes his outrageous accusations. Recently, on July 18, 2020, [Effie] sent graphic texts to Mr. Hammer telling him what she wanted him to do with her. Mr. Hammer responded by making it clear that he did not want to have that kind of relationship with her. The image below is just one of hundreds [Effie] sent to Mr. Hammer. “

Brettler included a screenshot of a text, which he said was one of the hundreds that Effie sent to the actor, in which she was making a proposal for him. He also provided an image of comments she allegedly made on Instagram, in which she dismisses the idea that the meeting was not consensual.

“It was never Mr. Hammer’s intention to embarrass or expose [Effie’s] fetishes or perverted sexual desires, but she has now escalated this issue to another level by hiring a civil lawyer to host a public press conference, ”says Brettler. “With the truth on his side, Mr. Hammer welcomes the opportunity to clear things up.

“From the first day, Mr. Hammer claims that all of his interactions with [Effie] – and all his other sexual partners in this regard – were completely consensual, discussed and agreed in advance and mutually participatory. [Effie’s] seeking attention and reckless legal supply will only make it more difficult for the real victims of sexual violence to get the justice they deserve. “

According TMZ, Allred said Effie provided evidence to the authorities, but she is not planning to file a lawsuit.
