Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson went to IG Stories on Monday to give Glen Davis a scathing response after he hinted that his recent injury streak was “karma” for his statements about Rodney McGruder over the weekend .
“Damn it, Big Baby, is that what we’re doing now !?”, wrote Thompson. “I can’t wait to see you on the court next year, I’m calling this every time. Prolly wins 40 in a room with a big guy chasing me.”
Thompson was working as a color commentator when McGruder faced Juan Toscano-Anderson on the court after Saturday’s game between the Warriors and the Detroit Pistons. Defending his teammate, Klay made some harsh comments about McGruder, saying he was probably acting badly because “he may be out of the league soon”.
Davis learned everything and commented in an Instagram post about the incident, writing: “Saying shit like that, I can see why he is still hurt. Karma.”
Thompson suffered a torn ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors, causing him to miss the entire 2019-20 season. Almost a month before the 2020-21 campaign began, Thompson tore his Achilles during a game. The injury meant that Klay would be out for another season.
Although Thompson kept his answer strictly about basketball, he knew exactly what he was doing by promising to pay iso against Davis when he returned to the league next season, although Big Baby has not been in the NBA since the 2014-15 campaign.
