Hyundai reports high demand for Ioniq 5 in Europe

Not only in South Korea, Hyundai has noted tremendous interest in its all-electric model Ioniq 5 (23,760 pre-orders in 24 hours), which will enter the market in a few months.

In Europe, the launch of the Ioniq 5 is also a great success, much bigger than the launch of the new Tucson SUV in 2020.

Hyundai reports that between the opening on February 23 and February 26, the number of customer inquiries in Europe reached 236,000. There are probably a lot of people looking for their all-electric car and the Ioniq 5 is on the list of candidates to consider.

“The world premiere of the Hyundai IONIQ 5 was followed by the highest number of inquiries from European customers regarding the launch of a new car for the brand.”

“Launched through a virtual world premiere, IONIQ 5 quickly generated a very high level of website traffic and consumer social media engagement in Europe – more than ever previously registered by Hyundai for such an event, including the launch of the popular new Tucson SUV in 2020. “

In terms of pre-orders, the limited edition of the IONIQ 5 Project 45 (only 3,000 units available) had its supply exceeded 24 hours after opening reservations, almost three times, which seems to us about 9,000 orders just for the edition Of launching.

This is really incredible and it looks like Hyundai has hit the customer’s needs for a fully electric car.

Now let’s just wait and see if the company is able to produce enough Ioniq 5 to meet demand. In Europe, in particular, customer deliveries will start at second quarter of 2021.

Andreas-Christoph Hofmann, vice president of marketing and product at Hyundai Motor Europe, said:

“The exceptionally high interest in the IONIQ 5 underscores Hyundai’s strength in zero-emission mobility. With its ultra-fast loading, long reach and customizable interior space, the IONIQ 5 is a revolutionary that sets the benchmark in its class – and these exceptional features have proven be attractive to a significant number of European customers. “
