Hyped Francisco Lindor embraces Mets story on Instagram post

Francisco Lindor seems ready to embrace his place in the history of the Mets.

The All-Star shortstop, which was acquired by the Indians by Amazin, along with pitcher Carlos Carrasco, posted on Saturday a photo collage on Instagram that shows him in the midst of several Mets legends. It also includes a video full of highlights from Mets and sports media personalities talking about the impact Lindor, 27, could have on the franchise.

“NEW YORK NEW YORK #godisgood #cantwait,” Lindor wrote in the post.

The attached photo showed Lindor in a Mets uniform surrounded by Keith Hernandez, Carlos Delgado, Carlos Beltran, David Wright, Roberto Alomar, Jose Reyes and Mike Piazza. This group includes several players in the franchise over the past 30 years or more, along with stars from Lindor’s native Puerto Rico. There is a belief that Lindor could have a similar impact on the Mets’ success for many of the players portrayed with him in the photo.

Several of his current Mets teammates commented on the post with Marcus Stroman writing: “More wins and smiles on the way!”

Closer Mets Edwin Diaz wrote “Vamos pa encimota bro” along with two Puerto Rican flags, which translates to “let’s go to the sea”. Jose Reyes also welcomed you to the franchise.

Lindor, who is a .285 career hitter, was acquired by the Mets for shortstops Andres Gimenez, Amed Rosario and three prospects.
