Raj Deepa

Hindu prayers will begin on the day of Mount Pleasant City Council (South Carolina) on March 9, 2021 with hymns from the oldest scripture in the world.

The honor goes to Rajan Zed, who will remotely invoke the ancient Sanskrit scriptures before Mount Pleasant City Council. After delivery in Sanskrit, he will read the English interpretation of the prayers. Sanskrit is considered a sacred language in Hinduism and the root language of Indo-European languages.

Zed, the president of the Universal Society of Hinduism, will recite from the Rig-Veda, the oldest scripture in the world still in common use; in addition to verses from Upanishads and Bhagavad-Gita (Song of the Lord), both ancient Hindu scriptures. He plans to start and end the prayer with â ?? Omâ ????, the mystical syllable that contains the universe, which in Hinduism is used to introduce and complete religious work.

Reciting from Brahadaranyakopanishad, Rajan Zed plans to say “??? Asato ma sad gamaya, Tamaso ma jyotirgamaya, Mrtyormamrtamgamayaâ ????; which he will then interpret as â ?? Reciting the Bhagavad-Gita, he proposes to urge council members and others present to keep the well-being of others always in mind.
