Hyatt calls the Nazi rune-like CPAC stage ‘abhorrent’

It seems that Hyatt Hotels would never have agreed to host the Conservative Political Action Conference this weekend. In an unusually honest corporate statement issued on Sunday night, after Donald Trump took the stage at the end of the conference, the hotel group said it was “extremely disappointed by the disrespect that many individuals involved in the event showed our colleagues” after reports of that participants became abusive when asked to wear masks and distance themselves socially. The hotel group also called the hate symbols “abominable” after the CPAC stage design was compared to a Nordic rune used by the Nazis during World War II. Hyatt clarified that he had no involvement in the design of the stage, adding: “We take the concern raised about the possibility of hate symbols being included in the stage design in CPAC 2021 very seriously, as all of these symbols are abominable and unequivocally contrary to our values as a company. Matt Schlapp, president of the American Conservative Union, called the Nazi rune comparisons “outrageous and slanderous.”
