Huskers ready to welcome fans back

The Big Ten Conference announced on Wednesday that it will allow fans to return to the sporting events of the regular season conference starting immediately. The decision to follow local health guidelines and restrictions was made jointly by the Big Ten Conference Athletic Directors and the Council of Presidents and Chancellors, in consultation with university medical experts and the conference office.

“I applaud the decision to allow fans to return to the conference venues until the end of the 2020-21 athletic season,” said Nebraska Athletics Director Bill Moos said. “This is another positive step as we get closer to normal operations in Big Ten and university athletics. Our team worked closely with local health officials to finalize the details and provide a safe environment at our facilities. I know that Nebraska fans are looking forward to this again cheering for their Huskers in person, and we are looking forward to welcoming them back. “

The decision applies to all remaining events at Nebraska’s home sports facilities, starting with Friday’s baseball and softball games. Tickets will be available for baseball, softball, football, volleyball and the Huskers spring game on May 1. Big Ten announced earlier this month that it would allow ticket sales to the public at conference championship events, including the Big Ten Men’s Gymnastics and Big Ten Men’s Ten championships, which will be held in Lincoln in April.

Preliminary information for upcoming Husker athletic competitions includes the following:

  • Ticket holders for the most recent ticket season will receive the first opportunity to purchase tickets (i.e. volleyball, football 2019; baseball and softball 2020) and will receive direct email communication for their respective sports today.
  • All ticket sales will be made in a single game and all tickets will be mobile.
  • Fans will be required to wear facial covers at all sports facilities in Nebraska.

More details on venue capacities, ticket allocation, seating plans and health and safety measures will be announced shortly. All plans are subject to change based on adjustments to health measures directed at Lincoln / Lancaster County.
