Erika Jayne’s husband, Thomas Girardi, was diagnosed with late-onset Alzheimer’s disease amid the couple’s divorce and a series of lawsuits currently against him.
In addition to being married to the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, Girardi, 81, is a well-known lawyer in California. Although the online records seen by Fox News show that he is currently “not qualified to practice law” in the state, on Tuesday, March 9.
A statement made by Girardi’s doctor on Wednesday in his ongoing guardianship case states that her husband who is away from the reality show star currently “suffers from late-onset Alzheimer’s disease” and dementia.

The doctor notes that Girardi is unable to attend court hearings in his legal affairs because his “dementia impairs his ability to understand the hearing”.
Girardi is also suffering from “emotional distress”, notes the doctor, “directly related to his dementia and made worse by his confusion”.
In February, a judge named Girardi’s brother, Robert Girardi, of his guardianship after claiming he was suffering from memory loss.

The news of Tom’s guardianship comes amid increasing lawsuits and the divorce of the reality show star. Jayne, who is also a Broadway singer and artist, announced her divorce in November.

The couple has been married for 21 years. In her divorce petition, Jayne asked her husband to pay his legal fees and provide child support. Girardi reportedly asked the court to deny the reality show star’s request.
