(UPDATE, 1:23 pm) Police at the scene said about 30 to 40 vehicles were involved. The interstate is likely to be closed for a few hours while Montana Highway Patrol soldiers investigate the accident.
There have been no reported deaths, but there are people with serious and minor injuries.
(1st REPORT) Emergency teams are at the site of a large pile of vehicles along I-90 in Billings.
Montana Highway Patrol says I-90 west is closed from the I-94 division near Johnson Lane.
The MHP asks people to avoid the area from mile marker 450 to mile marker 455.
At this point, there is no information about whether there were serious injuries, or what triggered the pileup.
