Hublot’s Big Band and Premier League is a $ 5,200 Wear OS watch – 9to5Google

Wear OS is no stranger to luxury editing options, but the Hublot Big Band and Premier League may be among the most decadent to date.

Like any self-respecting luxury brand, Hublot probably targets an important demographic: professional football players, and specifically those in the Premier League. The Hublot Big Band and Premier League is limited to just 200 and with a downright ridiculous price of £ 4,300, we can’t imagine there is a queue to get one. The price of “Freedom Bucks” is $ 5,200.

But let’s talk about hardware, since a luxury watch must come with state-of-the-art internal components, right? Wrong. The Hublot Big Band and Premier League packages on the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 – yes, out of date – 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory. The battery capacity is 300mAh, which Hublot says requires two and a half hours to fully charge.

The design is inspired by the Premier League’s purple color, meaning a gaudy fabric strap attached to a polished titanium case and a 1.21-inch 390 by 390 pixel screen. It looks like this watch was designed to be worn by coaches and backstage staff, but there are some additional bonuses for the avid football fan.

Although the implementation of VAR (Video Assistant Referee) in the Premier League was a bit of a sham – a big understatement – this special edition of the Hublot Big Bang and comes with an additional “Starting Mode” that will show the team’s roster only, VAR decisions in real time.

There is also a “Hublot Loves Football Premier League” app that is only available for this special watch edition, but there will be Big Bang watches in the future through the Google Play Store. This provides pre-match notifications, lineups, goals, cards and additional time information. So basically, like any sports tracking app you’ve used before.

Perhaps $ 5,200 or £ 4,300 could be worth it simply to have a little more insight into the referee’s decisions on each game day. Hublot will also provide Premier League referees with a special version of this Big Bang. It will come with a lighter strip, lighter composite structure and will still have goal line technology and additional integrated functions.

The only other bonus we can see here is that Spurs coach José Mourinho and the best Premier League scorer of all time, Alan Shearer, will be rocking the Hublot Big Bang and Premier League. Maybe they weren’t aware that TicWatch Pro 3 is probably a better Wear OS watch? In all likelihood, they don’t even know what Wear OS is, but a free luxury watch is a free luxury watch after all.

Our advice: don’t buy this watch, but if you have $ 5K burning a hole in your pocket, you can consult the official Hublot website.
