Huawei spent the past year struggling to produce new products after most of its component supplies were cut off by U.S. trade sanctions. Even though the company has just sold its Honor subdivision and has not yet completed its Android HarmonyOS fork, Huawei is moving ahead with a new flagship phone.

Steve Hemmerstoffer, better known as OnLeaks, shared the image rendered below the Huawei P50 Pro. The phone is expected to be Huawei’s flagship in 2021, at least until new Mate devices appear. The P50 Pro looks a lot like the 2020 series of the P40, although Huawei seems to have given up on dual selfies in favor of a single perforated front camera.

The leak claims that the P50 Pro’s measurements 159 mm high and 73 mm wide, making it almost the same dimensions as the P40 Pro (168.2 mm high and 72.6 mm wide). There are no images available on the back and the exact technical details are unknown. Huawei was prevented from making the Kirin chipsets used by its previous flagship phones, so it is unclear what hardware the P50 series will use. The Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro were recently announced and both use Kirin chips, so perhaps Huawei also has enough stocks for the P50 Pro.
