Bassett shared in an Instagram story yesterday that he wrote “Lie Lie Lie” after “[he] found out that a friend was lying about [him] behind [his] a long time ago ”, dispelling rumors that the track would be a response to HSMTMTS co-star Olivia Rodrigo. On January 4, he posted the ad for “Lie Lie Lie” an hour after Rodrigo announced “Drivers License”, a song that is now receiving rave reviews from Taylor Swift and on track to be a success, which fans suspect be about Bassett. The drama advanced when HSMTMTS cast members praised Rodrigo’s announcement much more than Bassett’s. The plot gets complicated!
