Howie Roseman says the Eagles have the “right people” in place to hit the NFL Draft’s sixth pick – CBS Philly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Eagles season is officially over. For many fans, that day could not come soon. But now, we are left with questions and a lot of scratching the head.

The organization is at a crossroads with its current decision-making structure.

It seems that if they fail to do it right by 2021, changes may occur.

In a game that had many questioning the integrity of a quarterback decision, Doug Pederson doubled down.

“Nate [Sudfeld] he’s a guy who’s very capable of running our system and running and the opportunity to take that game out last night, ”said Pederson on Monday.

Sudfeld’s uninspiring 5 of 12 passes for 32 yards and a choice secured the sixth overall selection for a franchise that selected only one Pro Bowler since 2014 – Carson Wentz, the current reserve defender.

“It is something that we have to hit on the sixth choice of the draft in a huge way. I think we have the right people to do that, ”said GM Howie Roseman.

Roseman is now on the hot seat. The Eagles have regressed in every season since the 2017 Super Bowl, with Roseman admitting that this list is clearly no longer the same.

“I will do everything that is in the interest of this team so that it becomes a perennial playoff team again. I am not concerned with my work. It doesn’t concern me, it’s out of my reach. I am concerned with doing what is best and right for this team to return, ”said Roseman.

Cleaning up the organization is necessary, he says, to look for better ways to do things in order to improve a 4-11-1 campaign. And perhaps in a statement of self-preservation, Roseman pointed to the Eagles’ record since Pederson arrived.

“Just because you had a bad time does not mean that you are not good at your job or that you have a bad process,” said Roseman.

Roseman also said that he is not having internal discussions about the Carson Wentz deal. But the pressure to discover this situation will be relentless.
