After years of mocking Britney Spears, Howard Stern changed his tone.
The shock athlete is the latest personality to assess the public’s growing concerns about the pop star after the release of the documentary “Framing Britney Spears” and his ongoing battle for guardianship with his father, Jamie Spears.
“I think I’m free, Britney now, I think I’m full of Free Britney,” said Stern on his Sirius XM radio show to co-host Robin Quivers via Variety.
Stern was referring to the growing #FreeBritney movement. Supporters of the movement believe that Jamie is not only suppressing his daughter through guardianship, but many also question whether her father is stealing money from the singer’s fortune for himself.

Radio and television personality Howard Stern confirmed that he joined the #FreeBritney movement as concerns over the singer have increased since the release of the documentary ‘Framing Britney Spears’.

According to the report, Stern on Wednesday looked at Spears’ ability to be responsible for his finances and other areas of his life. While he questioned whether she was, in fact, able to take on the responsibilities, he turned to other stars like Charlie Sheen, Gary Busey, Kanye West and Shia LaBeouf for comparison.
“Ozzy [Osbourne] pulled out a bat’s head at a business meeting, “noted Stern.” He is in charge of his own finances.

Stern made headlines in the past because of jokes about Spears. When the singer signed on as a judge for “The X Factor” in 2012 with a $ 15 million contract, he questioned her abilities and said she planned to “tune in to see what kind of train accident she is.”
“I think it’s a wonderful decision, Britney still thinks the Earth is flat,” said Stern. “Listen, I think we’re going to tune in to see her, if she can work through the thing.”
Supporters of the #FreeBritney movement believe that Jamie Spears is stealing money from the singer’s fortune for himself.

Stern said he anticipated that Spears would not bring any real substance to the competitive show.
“As far as any real criticism is concerned, I think Simon [Cowell] and LA Reid will be doing that. I think Britney is going to stay there and eat a lollipop and wear a sexy outfit. I don’t expect great opinions from her, “he continued.

“I think she will sit there as J.Lo and [say], ‘Oh, you are wonderful. You are great. Do you think I could get a perfume endorsement from that? Do you think I could act on the show? ‘I think that’s what this is about, “he added.
In addition, in 2003, Stern’s interview with Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit about his alleged romance with Spears went viral. When the radio personality asked Durst to detail the seriousness of his alleged relationship, Durst replied, “It’s not funny to be afraid to admit / The first night made Limp’s dog hit him”, quoting his own lyrics.
The document “Framing Britney Spears” brought renewed attention to the falls of the singer’s stardom. The New York Times program prompted the star’s fans to speak out against Justin Timberlake and Diane Sawyer for the way they treated the pop star in the past.

Last week, Timberlake apologized to Spears and Janet Jackson amid the confusion he received.
“I want to apologize specifically to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson individually, because I care and respect these women and I know that I have failed. I also feel compelled to respond, in part, because everyone involved deserves better and, most importantly, because that is a broader conversation that I wholeheartedly wish to be a part of and grow from … “said Timberlake partially.
Actress Valerie Bertinelli and “The View” co-host Meghan McCain are just a few of the countless stars who spoke about the documentary in support of Spears.

Meanwhile, live performances have been scarce for the singer in recent years, as her lawyer claimed last year in court that she would not perform while her father, Jamie, was in control.
Jamie, who denied all rumors about himself, struggled last year to get the details of the case sealed. The famous father even talked about the movement, calling it a “joke”.
