Sanrio Amiibo cards for Animal Crossing explained

Sanrio Amiibo cards are a set of six Amiibo cards that were originally launched in December 2016 for Animal Crossing: New Leaf in a cross-promotion with Sanrio – a Japanese company that creates a range of products based on different cute characters.

If you’ve heard of Hello Kitty, then you’ve heard of Sanrio.

Each Sanrio Amiibo card is focused on a specific resident who, in turn, is inspired by one of Sanrio’s characters, including Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll and Hello Kitty.

With the release of Ver. 1.9.0 from New Horizons, Sanrio Amiibo Cards, including those originally released for Animal Crossing: New Leaf, can now be used to add Sanrio villagers and their items to your island.

How to invite a Sanrio resident to your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

If you want to invite a Sanrio resident to live on your island in New Horizons, you need to follow the same steps as when using a regular Animal Crossing Amiibo Card to invite a resident to your island.

AC_Sanrio_6

First choose your card and then, in the game, visit the Nook Stop in Residential Services.

Here you can scan your chosen Sanrio villager card using the ‘Invite Camper Amiibo’ option. This villager will then appear in your camp and, like a normal villager, he will ask for furniture, which, when given to them, will eventually unlock the option to add them to your island community.

New to Animal Crossing? Our Animal Crossing New Horizons tips can help with the basics. From the start, there are fish and insects to catch, flowers and fruits to grow with Leif seeds, villagers to add or remove, and tools like the new ladder and jumping stick to collect. After settling in, you’ll want to make as many bells as possible, start collecting KK Slider songs and work on the island’s star rating, increase your HHA rating, incorporate Feng Shui into your bedroom design and purchase kitchen furniture . You can also buy fake art from Redd, use the Dream Suite and the island backup.
