So you know you have an iPhone or iPad. But they are all similar. How do you know which version you have? All you need to do is find the model number of your iPhone or iPad.
How to find your iPhone or iPad model number
You can find the model number of your iPhone or iPad using the hardware or software. The quickest way is to use the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
First, open the “Settings” application on your iPhone or iPad.
Then, go to the “General” section.
Here, select the “About” option.
Now, touch the number next to the “Model number” option.
The number will change to reveal the actual model number of your iPhone or iPad.
If your iPhone does not boot, you can also check the model number on the device. If you are using an iPhone 8 or higher, remove the SIM tray. You will find the model number engraved on the top in very small print.
If you’re using an iPhone 7 or older, you’ll find the model number inscribed on the back of the case.
How to discover your iPhone or iPad based on model number
With the model number of your iPhone or iPad, you can determine the exact model name of your device – and the region from which it came.
You can simply do a web search by model number to find out which iPhone or iPad you have. But you don’t have to go that far, either. We list all the iPhone and iPad models launched until 2020 below. Simply use your browser’s search feature to find the model number of your iPhone or iPad.
