To update Argosy Submarine Slots in Monster Hunter Rise, you must first unlock the Cultural Exchange order, which leads you to find Flashlights-Lanterns and Boat Shells. This page describes how to find these materials in Monster Hunter Rise.
How to unlock the submarine’s request for cultural exchange
Complete the 3-Star Village Urgent Quest (unlocked after completing the mandatory 3-Star Key Quests) to obtain the Request Cultural Exchange. Talk to Rondine the Trader at The Argosy at Buddy Plaza after doing this Urgent Quest to obtain this Request. You can also unlock this by progressing through the Gathering Hub, although we’re not sure how at the moment.
You must have this request before you collect the items for it to count.
Where to Find Wisplanters
Witch lanterns can only be gathered in the Sanctuary Ruins, and are considered account items that are automatically converted to Kamura points, which is why you don’t have any in your inventory yet. They can be found by searching for Sparkling Red Berries in the Sanctuary Runes, which grants Fire Lanterns and Fire Lanterns, which are rarer.
Where to find boat hulls
Boat hulls can only be collected in the Frost Islands, and like Wisplanterns, they are account items. Find them by searching Oyster beds. Boat hulls are the rare material at this meeting place.
