Everything you need to know about the Kanto Celebration, including which Collection Challenges you can still complete.

THE Kanto Celebration Event at the Pokémon Go continues the celebrations of the Gen 1 of the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event.

Not only does Kanto Celebration Event timed research mission and a series of exclusives field research tasks for you to complete, but a series of Collection Challenges from the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event will also be in progress throughout the event.

These Collection Challenges will only be available to players who have purchased tickets to the event, but if they did, they will have until Sunday, February 28, at 7:59 pm (local time) to complete them.

Pokémon Go Kanto Celebration field research tasks and rewards explained

You can collect a series of field research tasks unique to Kanto Celebration currently running on Pokémon Go. These tasks are collected by rotating PokéStops and can be completed once the event is over.

Here are Kanto Celebration’s field research tasks and their rewards:

  • Download 6 Pokémon reward – Magikarp encounter
  • Win 3 hearts with your friend reward – Fairy Encounter or Jigglypuff
  • Catch 3 Pokémon reward – meeting Magnemite, Doduo or Diglett
  • Win an invasion reward – Snorlax encounter
  • Defeat 2 rockets from the GO Rocket Grunts team reward – Venonat encounter
  • Hatch an egg reward – Omanyte encounter

The ongoing collection challenges during the Pokémon Go Kanto Celebration event are explained

A series of Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto Collection Challenges will take place during the Kanto Celebration event on Pokémon Go. until Sunday, February 28th at 7:59 pm to complete these challenges.

It is important to note that these Collection Challenges are only available if you have purchased a ticket to the event.

Everything else you need to know about the Kanto Celebration event in Pokémon Go explained

The Kanto Celebration event on Pokémon Go offers several bonuses for you to enjoy – especially the opportunity to teach certain Pokémon their exclusive Community Day attack.

If you evolve an Ivysaur, Charmeleon, Wartortle, Pichu, Eevee or Dragonair during the event, the resulting evolution will automatically learn your special Community Day attack. For more information on these attacks, see our guide dedicated to Community Day.

The Gen 1 Pokémon will also be dominating the raids during the Kanto Celebration, with Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and Mewtwo all appearing in five-star raids during the event.

Legendary birds will appear in five-star raids.

Meanwhile, Pokémon from the Kanto region will appear more frequently in the wild, which is great for completing the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto Collection Challenges and Kanto Pokédex itself.

The time for celebration has arrived! With that comes a level cap increase – including the addition of XL Candy, the Legacy 40 Challenge mission and boosts for some XP sources – Platinum medals, the arrival of Pokémon Gen 6 like Espurr and changes to the Go Battle League Recently. saw the addition of ‘Strange’ red eggs and new formations by Arlo, Cliff, Sierra and Giovanni.


Pokémon Go Kanto Celebration dates and times explained

The Kanto Celebration on Pokémon Go is a limited time event that continues with the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto celebrations. Unlike the previous event, however, all Kanto Celebrations features will be available to all Pokémon Go players.

The Kanto Celebration event, and its search for timed research, runs from Sunday, February 21 at 10am (local time) to Saturday, February 27 at 8pm (local time).

Collection Challenges continue on the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto will, however, be available until Sunday, February 28 at 7:59 pm, giving you enough time to complete the challenges if you wish.

The Kanto Celebration Event’s timed research mission consists of four stages, each containing three individual challenges and you will be rewarded for each challenge and complete stage you complete. Since this is a timed research mission, it will disappear as soon as the mission line is completed, so you need to complete it before the event is over if you want to earn all the rewards.
