How to check your war zone skill-based matchmaking rank

MAC-10 and akimbo Diamattis are used by almost all players in Warzone Season 1, but if you like to use something different, here are the best alternatives.

Although MAC-10 and akimbo Diamattis were nerfed on January 6, many players felt that the changes were not enough. The weapons are still used in almost all shipments, so the loot pool has remained obsolete.

If you are looking for something different in Warzone, we have made a guide on the best alternatives for DMR 14, but you may want to change your side too.

So, here are the best secondary weapons you can use instead of the MAC-10 or akimbo Diamattis in Warzone Season 1.

Cold War AK-74u

You can activate your CoD 4 nostalgia using the fan-favorite AK-74u. Although you could convert an AK-47 to a 74u at Gunsmith, it was not a real deal.

Black Ops Cold War AK-74u

Now, you can bring this fan-favorite weapon to Warzone. It is one of the best weapons in the Black Ops Cold War multiplayer and is also a highly effective secondary on Verdansk and Rebirth Island.

It was the range potential to outperform the MAC-10 or the Diamattis, so try to stay away from CQB situations and you will have a lot of fun using the AK-74u. Check out our guide to the best accessories here.

Cold War MP5

Before R9-0 became the meta Warzone, Modern Warfare’s MP5 was one of the most used secondary weapons in the game. With incredible precision and decent range potential, the MP5 was the ideal weapon for players of all skill levels. Black Ops Cold War has its own version of MP5, which was added to Warzone with the integration in December.

The new MP5 has a faster TTK compared to its MW counterpart, so it is worth using. Any MP5 is feasible, but we’ve been using Modern Warfare’s MP5 for over a year, so why not try something different? Use accessories that increase the mobility of the MP5s and the recoil control and you will be the winner.

Modern Warfare R9-0

In a meta-change patch, MAC-10 and Akimbo Diamattis were added to Warzone, and R9-0 was removed from his throne. He received a small nerf that reduced his damage in range and made you have to land more leads to kill.

If you are in an extremely close environment and hit your shots, the R9-0 is still an incredibly powerful shotgun. A shot’s death range has only been reduced by about a meter, so as long as you are accurate, you’ll find the dominant R9-0 in the CQB. Check the R9-0 meta loadout here.

Modern Warfare AS-VAL

Although the AS-VAL is an assault rifle, it has one of the biggest time-to-kills in Warzone. With Diamattis getting a nerf on January 6th, VAL just got better.

Combine it with a long-range weapon, such as a sniper or a tactical rifle, and you will have an excellent short-range weapon.
