How to browse the Orange County Convention Center vaccine website

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The Orange County Convention Center, which has offered coronavirus tests to tens of thousands of people for months, is now also providing the county’s first large-scale vaccination site, causing confusion for some arriving in search of tests or injections.

To help you navigate the test site, News 6 took the route to the convention center and created a detailed map.

If you are going to another vaccine location in Central Florida outside of the OCCC, this article lists all current locations in the region.

Before going to the COVID-19 vaccine convention center, there are a number of things that people should do.

1. As of December 31, there were currently only three priority groups in Florida included in this round of COVID-19 vaccines: health workers, long-term care staff and residents, as well as people aged 65 and over. Be sure to meet these qualifications before making an appointment.

2. You must make an appointment before arriving at the OCCC vaccine site. Anyone in Florida can register on this site. Visit OCFL.net/vaccine to begin this process.

3. After creating an account, users will receive a bar code confirming their account, but individuals must still complete the process of selecting a date for the first and second doses of the vaccine. Moderna and Pfizer vaccines require two doses. After doing this, you will receive a QR code in an email with the date and time of your appointment. It will be similar to the example above. Orange County has provided step-by-step instructions on how to register here.

4. With a screen capture or printed version of your QR code, as well as a valid ID, go to the OCCC vaccine center no later than 30 minutes before your appointment time. The address is 9400 Universal Boulevard, Orlando.

People are asked to have a tank full of gasoline, as well as food or water. The waiting time can be more than an hour. Orange County Health Department spokesman Kent Donahue said the goal was to reduce waiting times to less than an hour.

Direction to the vaccine site line

Upon arriving at the convention center area, you will follow signs indicating the way to the North Lobby for vaccines. The location is close to the entrance of the OCCC. The COVID-19 test is located in the Destination Parkway garage.

News 6 directed the route west on the I-4 Beachline Expressway to the International Drive exit. Take the International Drive exit going north and follow to the Convention Way where you turn right going north, but instead of entering the vaccine site, you go to Universal Boulevard going east and turn into the entrance for the vaccine line.

Watch the videos below for details on how to navigate to the site:

Are there restrooms while you wait?

Yes, according to the municipality, there are portals and washbasins in the vaccine waiting list, as well as in the observation area after the vaccines are administered.

After getting your chance
